The Imp knob from our campground....
|
Our favorite stop in NH was to the
White Mountains.
From our campground (Dolly Copp) we looked
upon "The Imp" - a knob with a rock outcropping
of a face. We hiked The Imp Trail, and sat on
the top of his head.

|

From The Imp we see sacred Mt.Washington...
|

And, at the top of Mt.Washington (to
which we drove, we became
engulfed by clouds...

|
Saint-Gaudens Natl. Historic Site was our
second favorite stop in NH. His home, grounds,
and workshops are beautifully maintained,
and are home to many of his most famous
sculptures. His refurbished home (an old hotel)
overlooks the sacred Mt. Ascutney.

Mt. Ascutney State Park offered a road
near the top of the Mtn. We hiked about
2 miles to the summit, and had a
wonderful view from the top. On the hike
back snapped a pic of these bizarre, but
beautiful, mushrooms.

- Niagara Falls State Park -
It was as wonderful as expected.
The kids had a great time getting
soaked on "Cave of the Winds"
tour next to American Falls
(pics right & lower left),
then on The Maid of the Mist
next to Horshoe Falls
(pic lower right).

The "mountains" on the horizon are clouds...

We visited our final Great Lake, Erie,
as our first stop. Then, moved on to the
central part of the state where
the kids
earned another Jr.Ranger certificate,
and I got some lovely pics!
Lastly, we headed into southern
Ohio
and while visiting a few
Indian mounds,
we passed by the Longaberger
Basket
Company's headquarters bldg.
in Newerk.

Hoosier Ntl. Forest - Tipsaw Campground
Although we did much more in Indiana, some
adventures had been in the previous year.
We visited Indiana Dunes again, and the
kids had just as much fun this time 'round.
