Everyone’s
path to spirituality is their own…there is no “one path” to God.
Before
starting on this Journey, we all did some planning. The kids did States’
research, finding interesting and educational sites to visit, and I looked for campgrounds, places of natural beauty, and
spots in the U.S. considered sacred.
I
thought it important to round off an education with becoming closer to Nature and Spirit. I soon discovered that any education
shouldn’t be without those two, AND,
the
two are intricately connected.
As
we traversed the country we included visits to sacred sites with our regular “field trips.” Many sites were state or nationally protected, and even had interpretive centers with information on the
culture of the peoples who had lived in that area. Sometimes though, we found the sites only by a feeling inside.
By listening
to our instincts, we became closer to the natural internal works of the Earth. We could “feel” our way to places,
and sense time and direction. Often, people and other kinds of “help” would just happen along the way…even
though the “helpers” may not have even realized it.
When
we’d arrive at a sacred place, we would hold hands in a circle, say a prayer to The Creator for allowing us to
be there, and leave a stone or crystal as an “offering” to the Earth (like the money given to a church at collection). We had a standard few lines in our gratitude prayer before we meditated;
“Thank you Creator for allowing us to be here.
We hope this offering carries our prayers of
Hope and Love to All those who need it
In troubling times.”
Then,
we’d sit in silence for a few minutes. I would help them relax, to clear their minds, and “listen” to what
the Earth, God, or any/all Sprits of those before them may have to “say.”
I was hoping to instill in the children a sense of meditation, or deep prayer, where they could begin to listen to
their insides and develop a sense of connecting with The Great Being in each and every Living Thing.
After
about a year, though, I discovered our Journey’s “mission” was much deeper than just learning….
Through
a mutual friend I met a woman of Native blood while back in Florida
after our first “round” of the Journey. In telling her about our travels and what we had been doing, she and a
Florida State Tribal Chief felt as if we were on “bigger
mission.” We all had been having similar dreams/visions about bringing a new energy onto U.S. soil; through the crystal and prayers we were creating a “grid”
of Love and Healing energy so all who need to feel it will have it available. Including the Earth itself.
For,
we have all abused Her to the brink, and now it is the next generation who will be trying to save Her in a world maxed-out
with all kinds of pollution and all kinds of overindulgence, negativity and even hopelessness. It is also the next generation who will be responsible for bringing into being chnges in attitudes and lifestyles
– with respect to, care of, and love for All Living Things, The Earth, and The Creator/God.
On
September 22, 2008, with the guidance of our Native family, we participated in the prayer and crystal planting of the
last seed of the Spiritual part of this Journey. We
have "connected" all of the sites through prayer and loving intent to heal, and through a song created by my oldest son
and myself, specifically for the ceremony. The song includes these words (in Algonquin);
Ah-way ah-chee tapalot tah
(We have the love to)
Adaneedah toolah
(Help the Earth)
Ah-way nee-ez tay chee ahtn
(We know the want for)
Weel-ah wuskie go-wah
(Her re-birth; new dance)
We
visited about 80 sacred sites all over Turtle Island (North America) planting loving energy in prayer, crystals, ceremony, and through our song.
Photos of many of these sites are below, as well as a map and list. I hope these images help you to “Align with your Divine.”
Peace
and Love my Sisters and Brothers. We are ALL connected….
